After a nationwide search, the Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (“HACA”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Broussard Rosen as its new Executive Director, replacing Kurt Wiest who has retired.
Laura has been an integral part of HACA since 2018, initially serving as the Housing Programs Manager for HACA’s largest programs department. Her exceptional work led to her subsequent role as Deputy Executive Director in 2021. As HACA’s Deputy Executive Director, Laura had oversight of all housing programs departments and managers including HACA’s non-profit instrumentality, Preserving Alameda County Housing, Inc., and HACA’s Maintenance and Facilities Department.
Prior to joining HACA, Laura was the Deputy Executive Director at the Livermore Housing Authority after relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area with her family in 2016. Her experience extends back to the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) where she played a pivotal role in the executive office managing the agency’s Moving to Work (MTW) program.
Laura has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, TX) and master’s degrees in public policy and social work from the University of Chicago.
HACA is pleased to have someone of Laura’s experience and background lead the agency into the future.
